Have students strengthen their understanding of different
natural environments and the animals that live there. Have
students create drawings of different environments and then create
some unexpected visitors in those environments.
The great tropical rain forest of the Amazon Basin has a
tremendous diversity of life. Have students discover this
diversity by creating an Amazon alphabetic animal mural.
Have students recognize endangered rain forest plants and
animals by creating a postage stamp. Students can draw or paste a
picture of a plant or animal on the front of the stamp. Students
can then write important facts about the plant or animal on the
back.
Create a bulletin board titled “Save the Rain Forests.” Have
students use words, pictures, and other artwork that show
practical ways to conserve rain forests.

classroom to be a rain forest hero.
